Sri Lanka
Autumn 2009 the music cooperation between Norway and Sri Lanka started. The collaboration is supported by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Main goal is to stimulate the musical performing arts in Sri Lanka, among others through providing for international exchange, and to help enhance knowledge and respect for traditional musical expressions. As part of the collaboration, there are plans to digitalize Sri Lankan music, thereby preserving musical heritage and making it available to the public thorugh a center of documentation.
