India
With the support of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and practical assistance from the Norwegian Embassy in Delhi, Concerts Norway has had the opportunity to develop collaborative relationships with Indian music organisations since 2002. SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music Amongst Youth) and Concerts Norway have concluded a three-year cooperation (until 2012) on competence building and exchange of music for the target group of children and young people in the two countries. Mutual learning will take place by both parties performing in each other’s concert programmes, by exchanging music and musicians, and not least by gaining an understanding of the main ideas and goals on which the activities of each organisation are based.
Concerts Norway has also collaborated with Jazz India and Capital Jazz, the Great Indian Rock Festival, and arranged masterclasses at the Norwegian Academy of Music and the Trondheim Conservatory of Music.
