Norwegian super creative pop band to Beijing and Shanghai
One of Norway’s most ambitious and super creative pop groups nowadays, Montée, comes to Beijing and Shanghai August 5 and 7!
The tour is arranged by Concerts Norway, financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the embassy and consulates in China.

Progressive pop
Montée is a progressive pop band from Oslo, Norway, founded in 2007 by Anders Tjore, Erlend Mokkelbost and Maya Vik. With musical backgrounds varying from orchestral pop to hardcore punk and alternative rock, the three of them wanted Montée to be a clean slate on which new sounds could be created.
Inspired by forgotten pop and a steady disco-beat, they set out to make their band an adventurous one. And so it was!
Montée’s music has been characterized as extremely catchy, glamorous and luxurious pop, and as sensationally accessible music. Their first album received great critics, and many stated it was one of the most ambitious and complete pop albums ever released in Norway. Montée was awarded the prize for Best Pop Group in the Norwegian Grammys Spellemann.

Spur of the moment-energy
With the addition of drummer Marius Simonsen and keyboard player Haakon-Marius Pettersen to their line-up, they are now a live entity with a dedicated following. Montées live shows are a mix of focused songs and spur of the moment-energy.
Montée’s second album, “Rendition Of You”, was released in Norway in April this year, and the record was hailed by both the media and the public. The album charted in the top 10 for several weeks in Norway, and singles “Ghost” and “Faith” have been playlisted on Norwegian radio for many months already. The album is a huge leap forward for the band, with a sound that is more ambitious, heartfelt and advanced than ever before.
Montée will perform at Yugong Yishan in Bejing August 5, and in Shanghai at Zebra Music Festival August 7.
