The main goal for the music collaboration is to help creating mutual knowledge and  respect for our to countries' music traditions, and that the mutual cultural understanding between the two countries is strengthened by the fact that both Chinese and Norwegian music are exposed to each other.

Chinese contemorary music is developing, and these young milieus and talents are very interested in exposure and cooperation with other countries. Therefore it is important  that the interest in Chinese culture in Norway is carried on and strenghtened, hence hopefully creating increased interest in Norwegian culture in China.

The Norwegian Government introduced its new strategy for China in 2008, in which the cultural cooperation between the two countries was encouraged.

The following genres are a part of the cooperation: Jazz, rock, electronica, classical music and folk music. The cooperation is especially focusing on music for children and young people.
